this afternoon my brother and I went to the mission road antique mall, one of kansas city's hidden gems that also happens to be two minutes away from my house. he has developed a sudden interest in interior design, so I'm helping him update his room. my first client!

rita konig: design crush

J'adore Rita Konig's tiny New York apartment, as featured in the October 2008 issue of Domino magazine. How can you not love her whimsical and eccentric style of decorating? Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I found out that Ms. Konig is occasionally blogging for the New York Times. I'm obsessed with this photo of her bedroom, found in one of her recent NYT blog post:

Le sigh. Maybe someday I will so fabulous as to own a set of D. Porthault sheets. Rita suggests to first buy pillow cases and over time build up to a full sheet set.. I wonder what my parents would have said if I, a starving college student, asked for a pair of $320 shams for Christmas? Insanity! In the mean time, Bed Bath & Beyond it is. A demain, mes amis.

hello, world!

my name is fallon, and I love interior design. it's my passion. it began when I was eleven years old with a $25 inflatable silver plastic couch that was featured in a spread in girl's life magazine. when I saw that couch, something inside me snapped. I simply had to have it!

thankfully, my taste has evolved since. into what? I'm still not quite sure. this may, I will graduate from an all-girls college in the midwest. as a young adult on my own for the first time ever, I hope to create a lovely being, or existence, for myself-- one that's filled with beautiful things and people I adore. and this is what I hope to share with you :)
